The JRCC Larnaca announces the completion of the SAR MANAGER Training Course provided to Senior officials of the member states of RASARAC (Regional Advisory Committee for Aircraft Accidents), executed from 23 to 26 of November 2021.
The training was attended by representatives from Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Slovenia.
The RASARAC Inter-Balkan Committee, which consisted of 13 countries aims to harmonise SAR procedures and improve cross-border SAR cooperation. The Republic of Cyprus supported this effort from the first day of the Committee's establishment, signing MoU between JRCC and RASARAC in November 2018.
The SAR Manager Training Course is the 4th course provided to RASARAC by JRCC Larnaca, proving in fact the contribution of the JRCC to the international Search and Rescue community.
Moreover, such training courses, support the efforts of the RoC for the establishment of an International SAR Training Centre in Cyprus, and its operation not only as a hub for the provision of Search and Rescue services in the Eastern Mediterranean, but also as an International SAR Training Centre.
It is worth mentioning that the participants had the opportunity to observe live, from the JRCC’s Operations Centre, a SAR exercise with the participation of a helicopter of the Cyprus Police Aviation Unit and a Fast Patrol Boat of the Port and Marine Police under the coordination of Jrcc Larnaca.
