It is announced that on February 02, 2019, at 06:40, the JRCC Larnaca received an emergency call and request from a ship located in the sea area south of Pafos, requesting the immediate evacuation of a crew member.

The Center immediately activated the National Search and Rescue plan "NEARCHOS", mobilizing a helicopter of the Cyprus Police Aviation Unit and a registered nurse of the Ministry of Health, to transfer the patient to a hospital of the Republic.

The person was safely handed over at Larnaca Airport, at 10:00 local time, to an ambulance of the Ministry of Health.
