JRCC evaluation was carried out today, Wednesday 17 of February 2021, in the framework of the evaluation of the Republic of Cyprus, by the SCHENGEN evaluation and monitoring mechanism of the European Commision.
The evaluation, which was conducted by a team of experts from Member States of the European Union and FRONTEX, headed by the EU, dealt with the management and control of the external borders of the RoC, and more particularly the Search and Rescue aspects. The evaluation team, escorted by the Cyprus Police as the Republic’s representative, was briefed by the Commander and the staff of the Center about the “Organization and Operation of the Search and Rescue System of the Republic of Cyprus”.
