It is announced that on January 19, 2019, at 08:26, JRCC Larnaca received an emergency call and request from a ship located in the sea area south of Pafos, requesting the immediate evacuation of a crew member.

The Center immediately activated the National Search and Rescue plan "NEARCHOS", mobilizing a helicopter of the Cyprus Police Air Unit and a paramedic of the Ministry of Health, to transfer the patient to a hospital of the Republic.

The person was safely handed over at the Nicosia General Hospital for treatment at 12:03 local time.
