On January 25th 2018, the French Chief of Command for Mediterranean Sea, Admiral Charles Henri Du Che’ paid an informative visit to the Joint Coordination Center (JRCC Larnaca).

The Admiral was briefed by the Commander of the Centre, Commodore NAVY Costas Fitiris, on the organization, operation and the ongoing upgrade programs of the JRCC and the Search and Rescue System of the Republic of Cyprus, while the excellent cooperation between the JRCC and the French Navy, on training and operational level was emphasized.

The Admiral expressed his satisfaction regarding the overall organization and operational readiness of the Search and Rescue System of the RoC, and confirmed the French Navy’s intention for a continuous improvement of cooperation with the JRCC Larnaca, on SAR matters.
