On Friday, 21st of October 2022, the Commander of the Maritime Task Force of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (MTF-UNIFIL), Rear Admiral Michael Busse, visited the JRCC.

The German Admiral was briefed by the Commander and Staff of the Center about the organization and operation of the Search and Rescue System of the Republic of Cyprus.

During the meeting, the further strengthening of the existing cooperation between the Center and the UNIFIL-MTF was discussed, while the role that “ZENON” Coordination Center may undertake during humanitarian operations in the Eastern Mediterranean, such as non-combatant evacuation operations from crisis areas, was outlined.

The UNIFIL-MTF Commander acknowledged the level of organization and readiness of the Center and expressed his intentions for continue upgrade the cooperation between the JRCC and UNIFIL-MTF in humanitarian operations.
