Services provided by the Cyprus Radio Coastal Station
Α. Provision of VHF Services
Monitoring of VHF CH16 (156.8MHz), on a 24/7 basis, for distress and safety purposes through the use of radiotelephony in the direction of land-to-ship and ship-to-land.
B. Provision of MF Services
Monitoring of the frequency 2182 KHz on MF, on a 24/7 basis, for distress and safety purposes using radiotelephony in the direction of land-to-ship and ship-to-land.
C. Provision of DSC Services
Digital selective calling is used initially to emit Distress calls warning ships and coast stations for these calls. Also it is used for the transmission of distress calls from ships to shore and shore to ship.
D. Provision of NAVTEX Services
Coordinated transmission of Maritime Safety Information (MSI) to the whole sea area with effective radio coverage of radius up to 200NM from the NAVTEX transmission station, with remote controlled power fluctuations in the frequency of 518KHz in the English language.
The NAVTEX transmissions are conducted according to the defined prototypes and procedures determined in the NAVTEX manual (IMO NAVTEX Manual), in the following hours or whenever it is demanded (e.g. distress message), as follows:

E. Provision of Weather Forecast Services
Transmission of weather reports on VHF (warnings-forecasts), as they are published by the Cyprus Meteorological Service through the use of radiotelephony, (through prior notification on CH-16 and then on selected channels) at transmission hours: 06.00 – 10.00 – 16.00 and 22.00 UTC.
F. Provision of Public Radiotelephony Services
Provision of radiotelephony facilities from ships and mariners to the Land and vice versa through the Telephone Service Number 156.
