On March 29th 2022 the annual training seminar on Safety of Maritime Activities was conducted at “ZENON” Coordination Center of JRCC Larnaca. The seminar was attended by Representatives of over 30 governmental agencies and other private and voluntary bodies and federations that will be called to participate in Search and Rescue operations, close to the shore.
The seminar was organized by the JRCC aiming to raise awareness on incident prevention and response to emergency incidents close to shore. Furthermore, improvement measures of cooperation between all the teams/services involved aiming to be implemented within 2022 were announced.
The JRCC expressed its satisfaction for the high level of professionalism and cooperation between the involved agencies dealing with maritime activities related to Search and Rescue and also highlighted the importance of the effective Search and Rescue services provided, as an enhancement to the endeavors of the Republic of Cyprus to remain a safe and well-organized destination for tourism.
