INTEGRATED COASTAL SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM
JRCC has developed the Coastal Surveillance System (CSS), which enables the location, identification, and monitoring of targets in the coastal areas and within the territorial waters of the Republic of Cyprus.
The system includes several long-range day and night (thermal) cameras located at selected positions on the island, Mobile sensors on 4x4 vehicles as well as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The video, taken in real-time, is transferred to Control Centres at JRCC and ZENON Coordination Center. Other Government Authorities may also access the information.
Coastal Surveillance System, a strategic project for the Republic of Cyprus, fulfilled in three stages in May 2017. It has been financed by ‘’European Solidarity Funds’’, namely the External Borders Fund (Phase A) and the Homeland Security Fund (Phase B and C).
