Mission
The Joint Rescue Coordination Center, since the ratification of the Chicago Convention of 1944 and the Hamburg Convention of 1979 by the Republic of Cyprus with the Laws 213 of 1988 and 5(III) of 1994, respectively, has been structured and operating effectively and in a timely manner, as the core of the Search and Rescue System of the Republic.
The mission of JRCC is to coordinate, control and direct the SAR operations, aiming the timely detection and rescue of persons in distress as a result of air or naval accidents, within its Search and Rescue Region of responsibility, which coincides with Nicosia FIR.
