On 13th July 2023, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works and Petrolina (Holdings) Public Ltd ("Petrolina") proceeded with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing the framework of cooperation between the forthmentioned company and the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre ("JRCC").
The Memorandum, signed by the Commander of JRCC, Commander NAVY Andreas Charalambides and Mr. Dinos Lefkaritis, Executive CEO of Petrolina (Holdings) Public Ltd, highlights the importance of the cooperation between the state mechanism and the private sector, which is necessary and catalytic in cases of a crisis response occurred as a consequence of natural and/or man-made disaster, such as the Mass Search and Rescue Operations due to any Naval or Air Accident in the area of responsibility of the Republic of Cyprus.
The Center express its appreciation to Petrolina for its initiative, volunteering, to support SAR operations, and be considered an important tool in the fulfillment of the Centre's mission, which is Zero Loss of Human Life.
