On Wednesday, 07 July 2023, Deputy Director General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission, Ms. Beate Gminder, paid an informative visit to JRCC Larnaca.

Ms Gminder, accompanied by her staff and the Head of the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior, Mr Konstantinos Kyprianou, was briefed by the Commander and Staff of the JRCC on the organization and operation of the Center.

In addition, the challenges faced by the Center due to the increased flow of migrants by sea from neighboring countries to the Republic of Cyprus were discussed.
