On Thursday, 18 May 2023, the biannual meeting of the Joint Committee of Greek-Cypriot Representatives on Search and Rescue (SAR) between representatives of the Larnaca JRCC, the Piraeus JRCC and Hellenic Air force General Staff took place at JRCC Larnaca premises.
The main purpose of the these meetings is to further upgrade the cooperation between the two Centres, to inform about the international and national programmes underway on search and rescue, to exchange views and experiences in the management of search and rescue incidents, to conduct joint search and rescue exercises and to coordinate actions at operational level to minimise loss of life in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region.
